When is the New City Hall open?
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Saturday and Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Where is the New Town Hall located?
On the southern edge of downtown Hanover, between Maschpark and Friedrichswall.

When was the New Town Hall built?
Construction began in 1901 and the inauguration took place on June 20, 1913.

Who was the architect?
The building was designed by Hermann Eggert.

Why is the town hall on stilts?
The building ground was swampy. The foundations were therefore built on 6,026 beech piles.

How high is the dome?
The dome is around 97.7 meters high.

What is special about the elevator?
An inclined elevator leads to the dome platform at a height of around 90 meters. This construction method is rare worldwide.

What does the viewing platform show?
From the top, there is a sweeping view of Hannover; on a clear day, you can see as far as the Deister and the Harz Mountains.

What special features are there inside?
The city hall houses four models of the city depicting Hannover in 1689, 1939, 1945, and today.

The New City Hall is the seat of the mayor and the city administration of Hannover.
