Audio guides in the New Town Hall

Learn all about the New Town Hall during the tour.

During the individual tour with the audio guide, guests learn lots of interesting facts and anecdotes about the building, which is so popular with tourists, at 13 stations.

Starting with the inauguration on July 20, 1913, at which Kaiser Wilhelm II was a prominent guest of honor, to information about the 97-meter-high dome and the little stories told by the city models, reliefs and figures. Depending on time and interest, each individual audio station can be selected directly.

The New City Hall was built in the early 20th century in the opulent style of the Wilhelmine era. The dome measures an impressive 97.73 meters to its gilded spire. An arc-shaped elevator leads up to an observation deck. From here, visitors are treated to a magnificent view of Hanover. Inside, city models illustrate Hannover’s development in four phases: 1689, 1939, after its destruction in 1945, and today.
