Marienburg Castle

The historic castle complex on Marienberg in Pattensen is a popular destination in the Region Hannover. Marienburg Castle is located 15 km from Hildesheim and was built between 1858 and 1869 by King George V of Hanover as a summer residence, hunting lodge, and later as a widow’s residence. Marienburg Castle serves as an impressive backdrop for numerous scenes in the popular Amazon Prime series Maxton Hall.

 

Due to extensive renovation work, Marienburg Castle is closed on other days and cannot be visited!
