Pattensen

Every letter dropped into a yellow mailbox in Hanover passes through Pattensen: This town, with a population of more than 14,500, is home to Deutsche Post’s mail distribution center for the Hanover area. Better known, however, is Marienburg Castle, the seat of the House of Welf, which is located in the Schulenburg district and is a popular tourist destination. Pattensen comprises eight districts. Pattensen’s old town, with its half-timbered houses, is also worth seeing. More at www.pattensen.de
