The exhibits range from fossils and everyday objects to items related to the asphalt industry, which has shaped the village.

At the Ahlem Local History Museum, visitors can experience a piece of Hanover's history.

Whether it’s fossils from the surrounding area, everyday objects, exhibits from the era of industrial development, or the changes brought about by the incorporation of Ahlem—at the Ahlem Local History Museum, visitors can experience a piece of Hannover’s history. The museum is located in the Ahlem Community Center and is part of the Willy-Spahn-Park-Verein e.V.
On display are a farmer’s living room, the kitchen-diner of a working-class household, and objects from Ahlem’s industrial history. The historical development depicted ranges from fossils and excavations from the Migration Period to the changes brought about by dynamic population growth due to the Industrial Revolution and the influx of refugees and migrants, as well as the consequences of incorporation.
