Born in 1980 and raised in Bad Harzburg, Stefan Knaak completed an apprenticeship as an IT specialist in 2001. He initially worked as a programmer at his own software company for 11 years. Even during this time, he was already exploring the technical aspects of photography. He began to fully embrace the creative side of photography following the birth of his son, Leonas.

He purchased his first SLR camera, thereby laying the foundation for his career as a freelance photographer. Today, Knaak works on projects for well-known national and international clients, including Volkswagen AG, the City of Hannover, and Deutsche Messe AG. He also works as a landscape, product, and wedding photographer and specializes in advertising campaigns, corporate videos, and time-lapse photography.

His latest time-lapse video, which captures a thunderstorm over the city of Hannover in all its vibrant colors, has garnered attention from over a million social media users. In his time-lapse and drone workshops, Stefan Knaak shares tips on how to capture that perfect moment in life and the best angles from which to view it.
