Born in 1980 and raised in Bad Harzburg, Stefan Knaak completed his training as an IT specialist in 2001. He initially worked as a programmer in his own software company for 11 years. It was during this time that he began to explore the technical aspects of photography. He then began to live out the creative side of photography with the birth of his son Leonas.

He purchased his first SLR camera, thereby laying the foundation for his career as a freelance photographer. Knaak now receives commissions from well-known national and international clients, including Volkswagen AG, the City of Hanover, and Deutsche Messe AG. He also works as a landscape, product, and wedding photographer and specializes in advertising campaigns, promotional videos, and time-lapse photography.

His latest time-lapse video, which captures a thunderstorm over the city of Hanover in all its colorful intensity, has garnered attention from over a million social media users. In his time-lapse and drone workshops, Stefan Knaak shares tips on how to capture that one perfect moment in life and from which perspectives to view it.
