Forms

To register a motor vehicle or trailer, a separate SEPA direct debit mandate for the collection of vehicle tax must be submitted to the registration authority.

If you want someone else to register a vehicle on your behalf, that person must provide a power of attorney for vehicle registration.

Fees

On September 1, 2023, new regulations regarding vehicle registration went into effect. With the introduction of the new Vehicle Registration Regulation (FZV), changes were also made to the Schedule of Fees (GebOst), where you can find the applicable administrative fees.

i-KFZ - Online registration, deregistration and re-registration

The Region Hannover portal offers the i-KfZ service for Levels 1, 2, and 3. This online vehicle registration service allows for changes in ownership, transfers of title, de-registration, and all types of re-registration.

Vehicles registered after 01.01.2015 are suitable for this procedure.

Vehicle owners in the Region Hannover, with the exception of those in the state capital, will soon be able to use this portal to complete numerous transactions independently of the opening hours of their local registration offices and without having to visit in person.
