Geocaching: In Leibniz's footsteps

A modern-day (digital) scavenger hunt: A brain-teasing treasure hunt and a great opportunity for young people to follow in Leibniz’s footsteps on this geotour and explore the city.

Geocaching has been a global trend for years. To mark the Leibniz Year 2016, the state capital of Hannover, in cooperation with Hannover Marketing und Tourismus GmbH, has developed another treasure hunt as part of the “Ge(o)mysteries of the Region Hannover” series. Fourteen treasures related to Leibniz—so-called caches (small hiding places)—must be tracked down and decoded at various locations throughout the city. Interested treasure hunters simply need a GPS device or a GPS-enabled smartphone. The exact requirements, coordinates, and information for the individual treasures are available here:

The "In Leibniz's Footsteps" geocaching tour can be enjoyed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, to feature it as a recommended event in the Hannover.de calendar, only Saturday and Sunday are listed as the event dates.
