The dome driveway in the New Town Hall starts the new season

The Bow Lift Reopens

March 24 is the big day—the arch lift in the 97.73-meter-high dome of the New City Hall kicks off the 2023 season

View of Lake Masch from the town hall dome

The ride on this globally unique arch-shaped elevator offers a one-of-a-kind view of all of Hannover, the surrounding region, and—when conditions are good—as far as the Harz Mountains. On the way up, guests are first transported vertically and then at a 17-degree angle. The ride can be observed up close through windows in the roof and floor.

The ADAC Hannover Marathon will also take place during the opening weekend—the start and finish lines are clearly visible from the town hall dome.

Tip for families

During the Easter break, the New City Hall—with its city models and the arched elevator ride—is a lovely and interesting place to visit.
