Family Program for the Final Stretch of Summer Vacation

A special destination for families is the children’s play area at the Heinz-von-Heiden-Arena. On Wednesdays and from Friday through Sunday, there’s a free play and hands-on program there from 2 to 7 p.m., featuring crafts, climbing, games, jumping, and running around. In addition, there are rotating activities and attractions that provide entertainment for visitors of all ages.

Xie-Xie Leisure and Experiential Education for Children Every day, it invites visitors to participate in crafts, face painting, and making small souvenirs. Anyone who wants to commemorate their favorite spot or activity at the Maschsee Festival can do so together with the Xie-Xie team on a colorful garland that’s already covered with many messages.

From Friday, August 7, through Sunday, August 9, the Kinderwiese will once again be buzzing with athletic activity, featuring, among other things, the Children’s Olympics hosted by the Turn-Klubb Hannover (TKH). The “next talents” will also provide extra excitement with various basketball stations, and enercity AG will be bringing a bounce house. Hannover 96 will be bringing along its mascot, Eddie, while the hanover adventure zoo will be stopping by with the walking act “Tatzi” and some fun activities.

On Saturday, Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe will also be stopping by with a real ambulance. As they explore the vehicle, children will learn basic first aid skills in a fun way.

To wrap up the Maschsee Festival on Sunday, there will be one more special highlight: the Glocksee Waste Awards ceremony, which puts the spotlight on sustainability in an entertaining way.

Of course, parents are well taken care of at the children’s play area: The “Kaffeerad” offers freshly brewed specialty coffees for a quick break. At the same time, all Maschseefest guests can get free drinking water at the children’s play area

The Maschsee Pirates are also out and about again during the last week of vacation: on Tuesday and Thursday, they’ll set sail and take young adventurers on an exciting tour across the Maschsee, keeping everyone in good spirits with sea shanties and pirate songs. Tickets are available online.

When Hannover suddenly seems tiny, it’s because you’re riding the Maschsee Ferris Wheel by Rossmann. The ride in the enclosed gondola takes you up to a height of 38 meters, offering an impressive view of the Maschsee and the colorful festival grounds. A little adventure with a big view—and a thrilling ride for the whole family. The ride costs 7 euros for adults and 5 euros for children under ten.

There are also special moments to experience outside of the children’s program: One of them is the torchlight swim on August 8. On that night, more than 100 divers will transform Hannover’s Maschsee into an atmospheric sea of lights—and perhaps the little guests will be allowed to stay up a little later that evening.
