The International Fireworks Competition welcomes the Polish team SUREX
On September 2, the Polish SUREX team will be visiting the Herrenhäuser Gärten for the penultimate competition event.
Jaroslaw Suzdalewicz, show designer for the Polish team, is particularly impressed by the beauty of the Herrenhäuser Gardens: “This wonderful garden is a perfect and fantastic backdrop for a spectacular fireworks show.” With its show “Bouquet of Emotions,” SUREX aims to integrate this special location into its pyrotechnic effects and rich color palette. Inspired by this year’s compulsory piece, Jean Sibelius’s “Finlandia,” the musical selection for their entire fireworks display is very epic. Twenty-eight different launch positions and three 18-meter-high lifting platforms are among the elements designed to help create a new and unique landscape for visitors to the International Fireworks Competition.
The supporting program Two spirited street performers juggle and dance to the sounds of the accordion, leading visitors into the Great Garden. There, the Moon Woman and the Queen of the Stars are already waiting for them. Magda “Magic” Piskorczyk performs funk, blues, soul, rock, and jazz in the Garden Theater with her expressive voice and perfectly tuned guitar. On the rehearsal stage, the Polonia dance troupe showcases their skills, and Evelyn Kryger’s musicians push musical boundaries. Hip-hop grooves, Balkan-inspired sounds, jazz, and techno: music for the heart, mind, and dancing feet! Dominic Srednicki from Poland is an outstanding magician and extraordinary juggler who loves to amaze his audience and make them laugh during his shows on the open staircase. On the Children’s Meadow, the charming Monsieur Momo makes the audience smile and dream with comedy, juggling, and magic.

The Team: SUREX SUREX was founded in 1989 with the approval of the Ministry of the Interior in Warsaw and has been run as a family business since 1993 under the motto “Our Passion, Your Emotions.” The Polish team focuses on the technical design and execution of large-scale musical fireworks displays for special occasions, such as the opening of the Polish Olympic Training Center in Szczyrk in 2014, the city anniversary celebrations in Wrocław, and the Tall Ship Races in Gdynia. They have also achieved many successes in international competitions: in 2012, the team took 3rd place at the Shanghai International Music Fireworks Festival, and in 2012 and 2014, they took 1st and 2nd place at the International Fireworks Competition in Pohang, South Korea. Since 2008, SUREX has also been the organizer of the international Pyromagic Fireworks Festival in Szczecin, where three international teams compete against each other every year in early August.
