In the Großer Garten, which was sold out with 11,000 visitors, Mihai Bondria’s team will light up the sky above the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen on August 18, 2018. Fireworks fans will be welcomed to the Großer Garten with colorful folklore and Eastern European joie de vivre. Two long-legged, dancing messengers of good fortune swing shimmering, golden, and violet leaves as if a gentle breeze were keeping them in perpetual motion. These imaginative stilt figures aim to bring great joy and lots of good luck to the guests—and, of course, to the Romanian pyrotechnics team. At the Garden Theater, the brass band Fanfare Ciocărlia from the remote Romanian village of Zece Prăjini presents Balkan Grooves, getting the audience moving to the rhythms of the Roma. On the rehearsal stage, Ayassa tells musical stories with spirited Balkan melodies.
At 10:00 p.m., the moment will finally arrive—at the third event of this renowned competition, the Pyro Events Team will enchant the audience. The moment they first laid eyes on the Großer Garten, the basic concept for the show took shape, and it has been continuously refined ever since. Mihai Bondria, managing director of Pyro Events Team, wants his show to let a little bit of the Romanian soul rise into the sky above Hanover, which is why he has chosen traditional Romanian music to accompany it. With this show, the chief designer is fulfilling a long-held dream, as he has always wanted to stage a fireworks display in the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen.
The Team: Pyro Events Team from Romania
Pyro Events Team was founded in 2006, making it the second newcomer in this year’s International Fireworks Competition. The team has made it their life’s work to captivate audiences with their spectacular pyrotechnic creations. They view pyrotechnics as a work of art: from the initial concept through the technical challenges to the breathtaking design. The friendly Romanians are eager to take on new challenges and remain true to their credo: to awaken a fascination for pyrotechnic art all over the world. They aim to set new standards in pyrotechnics and share their passion for it with the audience. They have impressively demonstrated this, among other things, as winners of Simfonia Focului 2014 and Pyronale 2016.
