Marienburg Castle

The historic castle complex on the Marienberg in Pattensen is a popular destination in the Region Hannover. Marienburg Castle is located 15 km from Hildesheim and was built between 1858 and 1869 by King George V of Hannover as a summer residence, hunting lodge, and later as a widow’s residence. Marienburg Castle serves as an impressive backdrop for numerous scenes in the popular Amazon Prime series *Maxton Hall*.

 

Due to extensive renovation work, Marienburg Castle is closed on other days and cannot be visited!
