Astondoa Pyrotechnics

The Spanish team "Astondoa Piroteknia" opened the 27th International Fireworks Competition on May 20.

Founded in 1885 in Areatza (Bizkaia), this family-owned business is now run by the fourth generation of the family, led by Izaskun Astondoa. Astondoa Piroteknia develops, manufactures, and distributes a wide range of fireworks products. Their shows and designs combine tradition with custom elements: carefully selected music and special effects create emotional and powerful fireworks displays.

Fireworks in the Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen

Collaborations with bands and singers such as Paul McCartney, Beyoncé, and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis further highlight the company’s artistic flair. In addition, the team has already demonstrated its expertise at numerous competitions, including the 2016 International Fireworks Competition in San Sebastián, the 2014 Champions International Competition in Bilbao (1st place), the 2011 Castellón Fireworks Festival, and the 2009 Pyronale in Berlin.
