Shopping in the old town

The old town combines shopping, gastronomy and history. Weekly markets and the Christmas market take place on the market square around the Marktkirche church. At the Leinewelle, you can watch people surfing in the middle of the city.

Highlights of the old town include the market hall, where you can sample regional specialties and delicacies from all over the world, and Kramerstraße with its small boutiques selling jewelry, fashion and decorative items.
