Maschsee Festival: Program for August 5

6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: UNESCO City of Music Hannover at the Maschseefest

This year, for the first time, the UNESCO City of Music Hannover will have its own stage. Together with Radio Hannover, Hannover’s musical diversity will be showcased on the stage on the north bank on August 5. Marisa Puoti from Radio Hannover will host the program, which consists of concerts and short talks. Many of her guests have also appeared on the new joint podcast “Soundcheck 0511” or in the UNESCO interview series, which Radio Hannover and the UNESCO City of Music Hannover office have been producing together for 10 years now. Look forward to the Young Vocal Ensemble under the direction of Prof. Klaus-Jürgen Etzold, Rainer Schumann from Fury in the Slaughterhouse, as well as Emilie Sandin, Ronja Maltzahn, and other special acts.

6:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.: Kirchner Winery

The charismatic Palatinate winemaker Ralf Kirchner will present his favorite wines, selected for the Maschseefest, and offer fascinating insights into his work, his homeland, and the philosophy behind his wines.

Lindenblatt will be featured at the 2026 Maschsee Festival in partnership with Aresto. Together, Ferdi Simsek and Ferhan Ekinci will bring their many years of culinary experience to the north shore of Lake Maschsee.

2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.: A variety of activities on the children's playground

• With fantastic creative activities from “Xie-Xie Leisure and Experiential Education for Children,” you can make wonderful party favors, get a temporary tattoo, and use your imagination to transform yourself into a lion, a princess, and much more with face painting.
• The “Hannover Upcycling Exchange” presents fun games about waste prevention.
• "Pfasaninstruments" has a few great hands-on activities related to music in store.
• "Hannover 96" invites you to marvel and jump around. They're bringing their awesome bouncy castle and their mascot, Eddie!
• "Hannover Zoo" will be stopping by with the walking act Tatzi and will have some fun activities and little gifts in store.

Legal guardians are responsible for supervising the children. A coffee cart serves up delicious specialty coffees!

6:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.: DJ Gordon Hollenga

The weekend is just around the corner, and the workdays are numbered. That’s reason enough to start celebrating. DJ Gordon Hollenga is kicking off the middle of the week with his club-ready sound. As part of the duo The Disco Boys, he’s already performed all over the world. He’ll be mixing the best of his music collection live at the Maschseefest.

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.: Blaue Jungs Bolzum Shanty Choir

“Always sailing into the wind” is the motto of the blue guys from Bolzum—a district of the town of Sehnde, about 11 nautical miles southeast of Hannover.

7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.: Dancing by the lake

Dance your way across the dance floor to atmospheric songs and classics.

5:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.: Forever Young

Grab your sunglasses, put on your dancing shoes, and get ready for the ultimate summer vibe!

7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: The Capt'n and Band

Get ready for a rousing mix of rock, pop, and legendary classics—performed live with energy, passion, and genuine stage presence. 

Dishes from more than 10 different countries: From the Food Highway to the Urban Garden and the Löwenbastion Show Plaza—there’s plenty to experience here! 

7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: Die Toten Ärzte

Two iconic bands, one explosive show: Die Toten Ärzte bring the biggest hits from Die Toten Hosen and Die Ärzte to the stage. Punk rock, sing-along moments, and tons of energy meet confetti, a joy of performing, and a festival atmosphere. An evening for everyone who loves “Schrei nach Liebe,” “Tage wie diese,” and uncompromising German rock.

7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: Peaky Pluckers

The Peaky Pluckers are known for their rousing Irish folk music and lively pub atmosphere. With traditional folk songs, well-known classics, and plenty of enthusiasm, the musicians provide top-notch entertainment.

The musical experience is complemented by a selection of traditional Irish specialties—from hearty Irish stew to Guinness, cider, and authentic Irish whiskey.
