Maschsee Festival: Program for August 6

6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: NP Summer Festival

As you’d expect from a summer festival by the lake, there’s one thing above all else: plenty of entertainment and music! From live bands, up-and-coming artists, well-known performers, DJs, and dance acts. On July 30, NP host Josina Kelz will welcome the following artists, among others, to the stage:

• SPIELHAGEN. The Berlin-based group—Germany’s first EDM choir—will provide the evening’s musical entertainment. They combine the power of a polyphonic choir with danceable EDM beats (live DJ on stage) from well-known pop and cult songs.
• Kevin Neon: Thanks to TV appearances, including on “Immer wieder sonntags” (ARD), Kevin Neon is already well known to a wide audience. He’ll take the stage around 8 p.m., performing his latest single, “Tanz Marie,” among other songs.
• Yann Hendriksen: The DJ from Hannover has racked up more than 12 million streams on Spotify and performs 100 shows a year across Europe. He’ll be spinning starting at 9 p.m.

2:00 p.m./3:00 p.m./4:00 p.m.: Maschsee Pirates

Captain Zopf (Elisa Salamanca), along with ship’s boy Mathjes (Mathias Lück) and stowaway Clown Fidolo (Horst Schneider), is looking forward to new adventures and to coming up with all sorts of pirate shenanigans, solving the occasional oceanic mystery, and spinning all kinds of sailor’s tall tales. Together with the parrot Bounty, the Pirate Jennies, and helmsman Achim from Üstra, they set sail, sing offbeat pirate songs, and—with a little luck—even find the key to the treasure chest. Always along for the ride is a duffel bag full of music. A fantastic musical sea-themed play for children ages 4 to 10—and one that parents or grandparents accompanying them will also enjoy! Ticket price: Children and adults €7.50 plus advance booking fee. Tickets are available exclusively online. Any remaining tickets will be sold on the day of the event starting at 1:30 p.m. directly at the Stadion pier.

9:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m.: DJ Mase

Under the motto “House meets Black,” he blends the best of two worlds: driving house beats merge with deep black music grooves, R&B, and hip-hop. The result? A mature, stylish, and utterly captivating sound that stands out refreshingly from the crowd and fits perfectly with the elegant, relaxed atmosphere of HeimW.

Japan Meets Maschsee – HeimW brings a taste of Tokyo to the north shore with the finest sushi artistry.

8:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.: DJ Aiello

None other than Hanover's scene icon DJ Aiello will be taking the decks at Nordufer.

6:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.: DJ Kai Schwarz

Hamburg's VIP DJ Kai Schwarz will kick off your weekend as early as Thursday. It's impossible to stand still to his killer house tunes.

Spanish and Mediterranean Dishes, Tapas & Paella

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.: StörteBäcker: the shanty choir of the Hanover Bakers' Guild

The StörteBäcker are the singing “smutjes” among German shanty choirs. The group was founded in 1982 when a group of singing-loving master bakers from Hannover—members of the Hannover Bakers’ Guild Men’s Choir of 1878—chose Mardorf, on the shores of Lake Steinhude, as their retirement home so they could pursue their passions for singing and sailing after a day of baking. Today, the current bakers-turned-singers still indulge in their hobby with great joy and dedication. 

7:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.: Dancing by the lake

NDR Culture Day

• 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. NDR 1 Lower Saxony Afternoon: Live radio with Sören Oelrichs from the Glass Studio Tent
• 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.: NDR Kultur — "Das Journal" live on the radio with Julia Westlake from the Glass Studio Tent: classical hits and insights into Lower Saxony's cultural life.
• 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Live on stage: “Kunstverbrechen” podcast—Stolen paintings, art smuggling, forgery scandals: Hosts Lenore Lötsch and Torben Steenbuck uncover spectacular crimes in the world of art and culture. Julia Westlake hosts the NDR Kultur Journal live, offering insights into Lower Saxony’s cultural life and classical music hits. The NDR Radio Philharmonic presents brass ensemble performances. The NDR Kultur literature team hosts talks and contests.
• 3 p.m: NDR Lower Saxony Regional - Live News from the New NDR Regional Studio in Hannover
• 6 to 7 pm NDR 1 Lower Saxony "Happy Hour—An Hour of Music to Lift Your Spirits": Live radio from the Glass Studio Tent
• 7:00 p.m. until the end Chill Out with Happy Sounds on the Shores of Lake Masch

5:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m.: California Summer Beats

Summer Beats in San Francisco, California, with a DJ.

7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: Odyssee – The Udo Lindenberg Tribute Band

Udo-style sound, cult hits, and true rock ’n’ roll attitude: With Udo Lindenberg’s greatest classics, Odyssee brings that unmistakable Panik-Rock vibe to the stage. 

Dishes from more than 10 different countries: From the Food Highway to the Urban Garden and the Löwenbastion Show Plaza—there’s plenty to experience here! 

7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.: Open-Air Table Quiz

Quizzing under the open sky: The Open-Air Table Quiz calls for knowledge, team spirit, and a little bit of intuition. Register for the Table Quiz via the reservation portal on the Maschseefest website (see link below).

3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.: Peaky Pluckers

With traditional folk songs, well-known classics, and plenty of enthusiasm, the musicians provide top-notch entertainment.

The musical experience is complemented by a selection of traditional Irish specialties—from hearty Irish stew to Guinness, cider, and authentic Irish whiskey.
