The municipality of Uetze is located on the eastern edge of the Region Hannover. Just over 20,000 residents live in nine villages. Uetze is one of the larger municipalities in the region in terms of area and has a rural character. The municipality is situated in an asparagus-growing region and is part of the Lower Saxony Asparagus Route. The second most important vegetable is the onion, which is also widely grown in Uetze.
