Audio guides in the New Town Hall

Learn all about the New Town Hall during the tour.

During the individual tour with the audio guide, guests learn lots of interesting facts and anecdotes about the building, which is so popular with tourists, at 13 stations.

From the grand opening on July 20, 1913—at which Emperor Wilhelm II was the distinguished guest of honor—to information about the 97-meter-high dome, and the little stories told by the city models, reliefs, and figures. Depending on your time and interests, you can select any individual audio station directly.

The New City Hall was built at the beginning of the 20th century in the opulent style of the Wilhelmine era. The dome measures an impressive 97.73 meters to its gilded spire. A curved dome lift leads up to a viewing platform. From here, visitors are treated to a magnificent view of Hannover. Inside, city models illustrate Hannover’s development in four phases: 1689, 1939, after the destruction in 1945, and today.
