The town of Springe and its twelve districts are located on the Deister. Around 29,000 inhabitants live here. The bison enclosure is a popular excursion destination. Europe's largest mammals have had a sanctuary here since 1928. The rest of the Saupark, which is surrounded by a 16-kilometer-long wall, is also a wonderful place for a stroll. Springe is easy to reach by S-Bahn from Hanover. More at www.springe.de
