The Steinhuder Meer is located northwest of Hanover and, at about 32 square kilometers, is the largest lake in northwestern Germany. The area around the lake offers a wide range of options for a day trip, an active vacation, or a relaxing getaway in nature. Swimming, boating, and sailing are just as much a part of the experience as surfing and kitesurfing, for which the open waters offer particularly good conditions.
